SHARE THE MAGIC OF BOOKS WITH #BUYABOOK
58% of homes in South Africa don’t have a single leisure reading book. This National Book Week, you can help change that by donating to our #BUYABOOK campaign.
#BUYABOOK is a cornerstone of National Book Week and plays an integral role in the work that we do across the provinces during South Africa’s official reading awareness week. From 24 August to the first week in September each year, people who want to contribute to the #readingrevolution are encouraged to visit our nation-wide participating Exclusive Books, Ethnikids, Bargain Books, Bridge Books and Love Books stores to #BUYABOOK and donate it for just R20.
We then make sure that these books are gifted to children, teens and adults in book-scarce homes. Over the past 10 years we’ve donated books to people in rural communities, townships and urban areas across 82 different locations. The lives of tens-of-thousands of people have been changed forever through the generosity of our partner publishers, book stores and sponsors – but most importantly, the generosity of the general public who #BUYABOOK.
This year, we launch our very first click-to-donate activation. Now you can #BUYABOOK by making a donation via the link below. We’ll use these funds to #BUYABOOK on your behalf and will continue to shape the minds of vulnerable South Africans through the magic and power of reading.
While there are plenty ways for you to get involved in National Book Week, if you were to only choose one, let it be this. The impact that these books have on the receivers, is greater than you could ever imagine.
